Julia became interested in nutrition after understanding and learning how food is medicine and fuel for the body.
Julia Cassidy (RD, MS) received her Bachelor degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from California State University, Long Beach. To further her education, she completed her MS degree in Exercise Science and Fitness at California University of Pennsylvania
Her background includes providing nutrition counseling and education to patients suffering from eating disorders and heart disease, those who are need of weight management, as well as working with athletes and individuals who want to improve their health.
Julia primarily specializes in anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorders. Through individual counseling she emphasizes science based nutrition research as guidance to promote health and awareness. Julia’s belief is that having a healthy relationship with food is the baseline to attaining the tools necessary while on the road to recovery.
The core ingredient for success for patients with eating disorders can be summed up in the words of Hippocrates: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
